Tallow balm is a skincare product made from rendered beef fat that is rich in nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K. It has been used for centuries to moisturize and nourish the skin.
Yes, tallow balm is generally suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. Its composition is similar to the natural oils produced by our skin, making it highly compatible. If you have extremely sensitive skin, we recommend trying our Unscented Tallow Balm which is formulated without essential oils.
Apply a pea-sized amount of tallow balm to clean, dry skin. Rub it in gently until absorbed. It can be used on face, hands, body, and even lips.
Many of our customers find that tallow balm helps alleviate symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, and other skin irritations due to its moisturizing and soothing properties. However, results may vary, and we recommend consulting with a healthcare professional.
Yes, we source our tallow from responsibly raised grass-fed cows. We prioritize ethical and sustainable practices in our sourcing.
Our scented tallow balms include natural essential oils, so the smell is subtle and pleasant. It fades shortly after application. Our Unscented Balm does not include essential oils so it has a mild earthy smell. However, our triple rendering process removes any strong beefy smells.
Yes, tallow balm can be used as a moisturizer under makeup. Allow it to absorb fully into the skin before applying makeup for best results. If it feels too greasy, try a smaller amount next time. A small amount goes a long way. For best results, apply at night once your makeup is removed.
Store your tallow balm in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help maintain its quality and consistency. Similar to coconut oil, your balm will melt if it becomes warm. The benefits of the product remain the same, however, the consistency may change. If you want to regain the fluffy texture, allow it to partially harden in a cool place and then whip it with a kitchen mixer before adding back to the jar. You can store your balm in the fridge if your house is too warm.
Tallow balm is generally considered safe for external use during pregnancy as well as for babies skin. However, if you have specific concerns, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider. For babies, we recommend our Unscented Balm, however other balms can be used at your discretion. Do your research on the essential oils included in our scented balms.
At this time, we do not offer shipping outside of Canada. This may change in the future.
We do not accept returns. Please contact us to discuss a refund if you have an issue with your product.
The longevity of a jar of tallow balm depends on usage frequency. Typically, a jar can last several months when used as directed. A small amount goes a long way. We recommend finishing a jar within 12 months, for best quality.
